In this demo, players can engage in battles featuring two of the series' characters: Liu Kang and Reptile. The demo includes a single stage, allowing players to experience the game's mechanics, special moves, and the signature "Fatality" finishing moves that set Mortal Kombat apart from other fighting games of its time. If you hold up and press Start, random select isn't disabled, meaning if you are lucky enough to land on Subzero or Scorpion you can play as them because they share the same graphics library as Reptile.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse.
